iTree by KMKG
18/06/2011 [austria] [livingroom] [permalink]

The iTree is a top-quality iPhone and iPod docking station made out of a simple tree trunk. This is hollowed out using a special technique and specialized tools, expertly proportioned to produce optimum sound quality. Each iTree is unique – costumers choose the wood, the length and the built-in technology. They can even take a ride through the forest and pick out their own tree. The iTree is then made by hand in the “Steirische Vulkanland” region of southern Austria by carpenters “Tischlerei Lenz”, keeping the iTree local. There are currently three types of iTree – cherry, poplar and spruce – however, almost any kind of wood can be used. The iTree is compatible with any iPhone, iPod docking station, W Lan stream unit or CD player. It can even be fitted out with a turntable.

Lester by Wittmann
04/06/2011 [austria] [livingroom] [permalink]

Nada Nasrallah and Christian Horner have come up with a highly distinctive design in the shape of Lester. The chair features a leather seat with classic deep-buttoned upholstery and a chrome frame. This unique take on the deckchair can be locked in three reclining positions, and is just 10 cm thick when folded. Each chair has a serial number engraved in the frame, making it truly one of a piece. A separate footstool makes for the ultimate in relaxation.

Possible Furniture by Robert Stadler
17/04/2009 [austria] [livingroom] [permalink]

Furniture built of stacking upholstered elements and laquered boards. The "Possible Furniture" series plays with the perception of balance/unbalance and thereby questions the designer’s role. Each different piece of furniture looks like a unlikely random pile which on the contrary was precisely designed following standard design rules such as ergonomics, stability and use. In a certain way the designer’s hand is hidden. The different elements are either upholstered, or lacquered / polished.

Moonstruck
07/04/2007 [austria] [lighting] [permalink]

Moonstruck light objects by Feinedinge are slip casted and perforated – each shpere is 100 % handcrafted. No stencils are used with the flower pattern, which makes each piece a bit different and unique. By using a clear light bulb the flower pattern are drawn all over walls and ceilings – if this effect is undesired simply use an opaque light bulb.
