Archipel by Laure Kasiers

Soft small islands disturb the gyres and modify the form of this carpet, each creating an interesting form of seat. The coloured strap emphasizes undulations and produces an iridescent surface.

The carpet is part of a collection made from trimming fringes which are rolled up and glued. The comfort they provide and their organic shapes suggest a sensual link with the object and approach the notion of infinity.

Afrikashox by Hugo Meert

Plate or dish with the contours of the continent Africa and Madagascar. This work paradoxically deals with the theme of hunger and fathoms our reactions towards world-disasters. Functionally this seems like a gap-exercise, of china, a kitschy souvenir of Africa up to a promotional attribute for an aid-organisation.
