Swan by Eero Aarnio
13/05/2008 [finland] [lighting] [permalink]

The latest lamp by Eero Aarnio is here and it's called Swan. Swan is a table lamp that's both functional enough for the office and decorative enough for the living room. Swan is clearly related to the Double Bubble. It has the same kind of plastic body that scatters light beautifully. It is also lighted with an energy saving compact fluorescent bulb like the larger Double Bubbles. Unlike the Double Bubble, however, Swans are available in three colours.

Ego by Iittala
26/09/2007 [finland] [diningroom] [permalink]

A question of balance. Egos highly original design brings a modern perspective to international coffee culture – a cup suitable for all varieties of coffee. Designer Stefan Lindfors believes that while the soul of an object drives its design, you still have to take functionality, manufacture and aesthetics into account. Thus the cups are stackable, and the saucers need no separate rim for the cup, so they can be used as plates. The distinctive handle helps keep the cup steady both in the hand and on its saucer.
