Ploum by Ligne Roset
29/01/2012 [france] [livingroom] [permalink]

The Ploum settees are the fruit of much research into comfort. And the result: a combination of two specific materials which, when associated with the real dimensional generosity of the Ploum settees, offers an extremely high level of comfort whilst giving the body the chance to adopt a number of possible postures. The seat of the large settee, which may accommodate up to 4 persons, has a slightly closed angle perfect for encouraging sitters to move closer together, which in turn facilitates conversation between the occupants of the settee. The great flexibility of contact associated with a freely-formed shape turn Ploum into a veritable nest: in fact, all positions are possible here, with both back and head enjoying the same soft contact, no matter which part of the seat is concerned, even the arms.

Guggen by Ligne Roset
05/01/2012 [france] [livingroom] [permalink]

The Guggen fireside chair is inspired by the chair of the same name which was designed by Andre Kikoski for the new restaurant at the Guggenheim Museum, New York. Cross-shaped base in flat steel, surmounted by a steel cylinder which supports a pleasingly thick one-piece seat/back which rotates 360 degrees. This central cylinder-stem brings great visual lightness, along with a strong personality not shared by all of its four-legged counterparts. The upholstered seat is lightly curved so that the occupant will feel completely supported. The three bands of quilting on the back suggest a soft welcome. Its truncated shape which points to the sky confers on it an elan which only adds to its visual lightness.

Soul of Pop by Dalcans
02/04/2011 [france] [livingroom] [permalink]

Soul of Pop is a multifunctional, wall-mounted A/V device. Its appeal is due to the clever one-of-a-kind size and depth compartments. Soul of Pop is a real piece of technical wizardry. Its fabrication has required the conception of a bespoke and patented design in order to create its perfect curves. Its shape, as well as the materials used, are real innovations. Soul of Pop comprises a single block of a special recycled resin, which is then wall-mounted via a strong central bracket. Its paint comes from the aviation industry and combines strength with a surprising soft-touch feeling! Once switched-off, the TV screen becomes a mirror!

SOD_project by Guillaume Lehoux
01/11/2010 [france] [diningroom] [permalink]

The project SOD for Spiders On Drugs, is based on the results of a NASA experiment. This experiment was designed to study the influence of certain psychoactive substances on the behavior of living things. The researchers inoculated the test substances (marijuana, caffeine, benzedrine and chloral hydrate) to spiders and then let them weave their webs. Patterns of each webs make visible in a graphical way the action of each studied substance. In nature, spider webs are traps, they are used to catch unwary insects which venture to them. This project uses the graphic results of the NASA experiment to design a serie of five "retaining objects" like the spider web (fruit baskets, loose change trays, ...).
